I moved to Milton Keynes and started work with Christ Church and the Stantonbury Ecumenical partnership in September 2024. I came having previously trained for ministry in Bristol and pastoring a single Baptist church in Cardiff for the past 20 years.

I'm excited to be a Baptist Minister in an Ecumenical setting, and very much enjoy ministering across the denominations - bringing churches together to demonstrate the love of God to everyone and working together.

I'm married to Veronica who shares my passion to bring people together and support ministry to everyone. Together we also support our son who has special needs and we want to promote acceptance and community to all.

We moved to Milton Keynes in 1981. I worked as a childminder for several years and for various Charities. I am a Baptist Lay minister and frequently lead worship at Christ Church and at other churches in the partnership.

My responsibilities as administrator include management of the building and assisting Adrian as treasurer.

Dr Adrian Prisk - Treasurer

I have been a member of Christ Church since we moved to Milton Keynes in 1981. I am a retired GP and have been treasurer since 2009 when I also joined the leadership group.

My other roles are playing the piano and singing to lead worship and managing the lettings and routine maintenance of the building.
Mrs Susan Gander  - Worship Coordinator

I have lived in Milton Keynes since 1980 when I started worshipping at Christ Church.

After working in local schools as a teaching assistant I’m now retired. I enjoy travelling, spending time with my grandchildren and pottering in the garden – although I’m better at cutting things down than getting them to grow.

When I was a teenager I joined a church youth group, but somehow the gospel went over my head. I was more interested in the young women there than in the message. Then when I was 17, I went to a meeting in London with the group and realised that Jesus was calling me. I became a Christian, and it transformed my life.

Not that it has all been plain sailing. I worked as a social worker in Ramsgate. The job was all-embracing and demanding, and my faith wavered, although I still went to church. Then I met and married Christine and she helped restore my love of God. We had two children and moved to Milton Keynes back in 1983, when I became a social work manager. After some great years, the pressures of work got to me and my faith slipped again. I suffered a severe depression and was on the brink of despair. But my family, church and friends all rallied round and I realised that Jesus had never left my side. My faith was restored and I began a new job that I believe God designed for me.I had defined myself by what I do. God saw deeper than that and was interested in who I am, with all my skills and weaknesses.

Now our children have left home and Christine and I have both retired. New challenges lie ahead. But I know from experience that God will give us both the strength to overcome any obstacles that lie in our way. Our Lord God will never let us down.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello (David)

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We currently meet on Facebook (COVID PLAN) for our Sunday Service starting at 10.30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ready yourself for making the most of your time before the service begins.

Plan your journey:

Open Google Maps

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10.30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, led by our band. We typically have 2 or 3 songs lasting approximately 20 minutes. Sometimes a person might pray out loud or read a small passage from the Bible. Sometimes people share things that they believe God is saying to the whole church family. This might seem strange the first time you hear it but it’s all part of our connecting with God. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of our leaders will then give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with a final worship song. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.
